Dayton, Ohio – February 17, 2021 – Carol Madewell, Secretary/Treasurer of Stone Soup Community Press, Inc., announced today the distribution of their proceeds from operations during the 2020 Fiscal Year totaling $1,637.51.

Madewell explains, “Stone Soup Community Press receives individual donations, corporate donations and grants, and government grants to fulfill its mission to publish and support unique talent within the LGBTQ community. These donations enable us to offer our publishing, writing fellowship, and therapy café programs. Proceeds from these programs are then distributed to charities who demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the lives of those within our LGBTQ community.”

Dayton, Ohio – January 29, 2020 – Carol Madewell, Secretary/Treasurer of Stone Soup Community Press, Inc., announced today the distribution of their proceeds from operations during the 2019 Fiscal Year totaling $1,779.20.

Madewell explains, “Stone Soup Community Press receives individual donations, corporate donations and grants, and government grants to fulfill its mission to publish and support unique talent within the LGBTQ community. These donation enable us to offer our publishing, writing fellowship, and therapy café programs. Proceeds from these programs are then distributed to charities who demonstrate a strong commitment to improve the lives of those within our LGBTQ community.”

Stone Soup Community Press, Inc. 501(c)3 will donate $109.35 to the Golden Crown Literary Society Reader Scholarship, proceeds coming directly from the publication of The Velvet Anthology, edited by Fay Jacobs and Elizabeth Andersen, and the cover designed by Ann McMan. Contributing authors included Karin Kallmaker, Lee Lynch, Ann McMan, Stefani Deoul, MJ Williamz, Annette Mori, Cheryl Head, Cheyne Curry, Erica Abbott, and Donna K Ford. This project was the brainchild of Sue Fidler (aka. Velvet Lounger) of The Lesbian Reading Room for which the reader scholarship is named.

Stone Soup Community Press, Inc. 501(c)3 will donate $764.90 each to the It Gets Better Project and The Trevor Project.

Stone Soup Community Press, Inc. 501(c)3 will donate $70.00 to the Lambda Literary Foundation and $70.05 to the Legacies of Lesbian Literature Project.

Stone Soup Community Press, Inc. 501(c)3 names Lindsey Danis as the 2019 Writing Fellowship Recipient

Dayton, Ohio – June 15, 2019 – Darla Baker, President and Executive Director of Stone Soup Community Press, Inc., along with the Writing Fellowship Selection Committee, names Lindsey Danis as the 2019 Writing Fellowship Recipient.

Applications for the 2019 Writing Fellowship were received from January 1 through May 1, 2019. The Fellowship includes a $3000 stipend, a publishing contract, and the opportunity to interact with other LGBTQ writers.

Baker comments, “the competition for this Fellowship was fierce. The selection committee narrowed the field down to three finalists, Brooke Winters, Chelsea Catherine, and Lindsey Danis. Choosing a winner was not easy.”
