OPUS Literary Alliance Seeking Charter Members
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OPUS Literary Alliance
August 15 2023
Seeking Charter Members
Attention readers, writers (indie and traditionally published), publishers, and anyone working or associated with lesbian, women loving women, and sapphic literature: The recently formed OPUS Literary Alliance is seeking charter members who will help us shape the future of this organization. We are reaching out to the community, looking for persons who want to join our mission to advance literary and educational opportunities for members; to work to preserve our legacies; and to celebrate, promote, and support lesbian, women loving women, and sapphic literature.
OPUS Literary Alliance is cultivating a vibrant community by gathering together readers, writers, publishers, and affiliated community members with the goal of uniting these groups to provide members with the resources, information, services, and connections they need to thrive in these swiftly and ever-changing literary times.
OPUS Literary Alliance is membership-driven and is committed to transparency throughout our operations and organizational decision-making. Writing is often seen as a solitary art; however, all writers need the inspiration and support of others. We seek to connect readers, writers, publishers, and all others to engage in collaborative relationships. OPUS Literary Alliance upholds a commitment to a diverse community where all participants, whatever their race, ethnicity, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation or identity, education, or disability, feel valued and respected.
OPUS Literary Alliance is a 501(c)3 membership organization formed exclusively for charitable, literary, and educational purposes.
The OPUS Literary Alliance Board looks forward to helping all those in the lesbian, women-loving-women, and sapphic literary genre to learn, appreciate, and create. We are seeking to bring content and camaraderie to the community as a whole: writers,
readers, editors, cover artists, proofreaders, and anyone or any organization that is connected to the growth and support of this creative niche.

Dani Powell has been in this crisis scenario before--the extreme highs and the devastating lows, the medications and the therapy sessions--and she is confident this is just another case of the blues. A talented artist, her hobbies of music and painting provide both an escape and a window into the chaos of her mind.
Andrea Fenwick juggles a busy accounting job with trying to keep her partner Dani grounded. She has watched Dani's mental health ebb and flow throughout their years together, but this episode seems different. Driven to always do her best, her strong will and determination may not be enough to keep them both afloat this time.
Tommie Andrews, a computer whiz and occasional dog trainer, discovers she's developing a crush on her friend and co-worker Andrea. The more she tries to be supportive of Andrea, the more apparent it becomes that friendship may be the most she can hope for. The timing couldn't be worse. Or could it?
All three women struggle to determine when things will get better, and in doing so must confront what "better" means to each of them.

Slaying Dragons

What Critics Are Saying…
Occasionally, I come across a book I know I will remember many years from now. Slaying Dragons is that book. Although heartbreaking at moments, the memorable way the story was told and the depth of character development, leaves the reader nearly breathless at the end. I was so happy to read the final version of this story after receiving a sneak peek at the very early stage before the story was complete. This is so much more than a love story. It is an in-depth glimpse into the swirling emotions of differing pain that many of us may never wholly understand. The underlying plotline is not an easy one to read but is so necessary for more people to understand and explore. Bring tissues but also prepare yourself for an uplifting conclusion. This is story that readers should not overlook. I highly recommend McGee’s novel, and it will not at all surprise me if this book wins multiple awards.
~ Annette Mori, Goldie Award-Winning Author of Locked Inside
Thoughtful is the word that best comes to my mind when I think of the story of Slaying Dragons by McGee Mathews. It’s a romantic drama that teaches and guides us through one of the many hurdles life can throw at us. The type that we feel is insurmountable. McGee tells a beautiful story of how not only can we overcome those hurdles, but how a person can learn to live and love on the other side of them. Slaying Dragons is a romance which shows sometimes life is a basket of emotions and extremes but can end with a taste of love.
